Our code of conduct serves as key to mark our identity and to flourish continuously in this business.

"The easiest way to predict the future is to invent it."

The future holds a lot of challenges for the photography business. But challenges make every single day a milestone to provide our services best. While the future sounds like a freak show as it leaves us to imagine flying cars, we take it as a dare to research and experiment with the latest techonologies that we believe will help us exceed our customer's expectations.

In 2001, we made the Digital Storybook to give life to the usual "album and pictures" memorabilia by enhancing it with graphic design to give the photos an exceptional look. The Digital Storybook progressed and became a trend in wedding photography.

Recently, we took a big leap to revamp our website. Website content has been improved to give all the information you need.

Dino Lara Photography will continue to evolve as the challenges, as well as the opportunities, are boundless.
Before following his ultimate passion in life, Dino Lara was in the Telecommunications Industry for ten years doing product development and management. Although he worked in the corporate world, Dino's artistic nature has always been evident. From 1995 to 1996, he was into painting with watercolor and oil paints. He shifted to photography after battling with his curiosity in it and photography's nature of being an expensive hobby. When he discovered this newfound passion, he found himself printing 2 rolls of film per week. Through the years, he realized his interest in people and event photography and in traditional black and white darkroom printing.

His interest in photography acted like a whilrlwind and brought him to a whole new world. After exploring his new passion for years, Dino Lara became a full-time wedding photographer in the year 2000. His inborn creativity gave way to a masterpiece, the Digital Storybook which he pioneered in the year 2001. He used Graphic Design in wedding albums and started the trend. Now, the Digital Storybook is widely popular and is now a standard in wedding albums.

Being a fan of happy moments, he believes that a wedding is the best event for happy moments. He doesn't just take photographs, but he tries to make a connection through them just like what movies and music aim for. He strives to make his work to be INVOLVING to anyone who sees it.

The famous photographer Ansel Adams has influenced him, but he made sure his craft has its own flavor because he mixed it with digital technology. Though it sounded too modern, his style is very conservative as black and white if one would carefully examine his work.

For him, a good photograph should communicate a message or a story to the viewer. He does this through composition, color, balance and focus among others. Although one good photograph is not enough. He believes that an event such that of a wedding should have a series of good photographs that are connected to convey the story. Complete with mood and emotions. In other words, the album should answer what happened, who were there, and what they looked like, all in a classy and elegant way.

Starting from just a simple hobby to a successful career, he became fully committed to it. It is not just taking shots. Professionalism, business and economics, marketing and financial planning play a significant role in what he is doing. His creativity allowed him to input his style through the mandatory requirements of the business. All these skills make him impossible to be a one hit wonder. A man who thinks long-term innovatively.

  1. What is a Digital Storybook?

Digital Storybook is a type of photography album I developed back in 2001. Technically, it is a combination of artistic and documentary photography presented in specialized graphic design. I use our style of photography and graphic design to illustrate clearly your wedding event with sophistication and elegance.

  2. Many photographers are now offering digital photography, are they all the same?

A lot of photographers are already shooting in digital format. Most of them also offer storybook-style album. Many call them Digital Storybook, which actually is my brand name. One has to look closely in the execution of layout. Most of the layouts I have seen show Adobe Photoshop skills, but sometimes the meaning of the picture is sacrificed when overdone.

  3. How is your Digital StoryBook different from the others?

First, our shooting style is adjusted to it. We do continuous extensive research on graphic design and other arts. We constantly develop our layout styles. But we remain conservative in a lot of manners so to avoid becoming outdated. We maintain the design styles to be INVOLVING, BALANCED, FOCUSED, SIMPLE BUT DETAILED and ELEGANT. Ultimately, our way of presenting your wedding to an album is very unique.

  4. Do you also provide the soft copy of the edited Digital Storybook?

    Yes.

  5. You have very simple packages but still we can not decide which one to get. Can you help us?

Yes, you can start with the 40-page 12X12 Digital Storybook. It's our bestseller. If you really like pictures, 60-page maybe suited for you. If you want light album, 10X10 is ideal. Still, you can decide the album even on the wedding day especially if you're in a tight budget. Our coverage is not affected by the album you choose.

  6. Is your price list negotiable?

No, as much as I would want to, I'd rather stick to the listed packages. This is to be fair to those everybody who availed of our services. Although the packages may seem to be more expensive than others, I offer a lot of flexibilities. For one is the inclusion of raw files. You can do all your recopies. You can even duplicate your album since I'm giving away the soft copies. These are the expenses you incur after the wedding.

  7. Do you also offer video service?

No. Due to the very demanding challenge to perfect the Digital Storybook, we prefer to concentrate on photography.

  8. Can you recommend a video outfit?

Yes, based on your budget and priorities.

  9. Do you personally take the shots?

Yes, although I have my second team also. In a special case that we have two weddings to cover in a day, I go to the wedding that is booked first for that particular day.

  10. Is your second team good enough?

Yes, definitely. They are trained to my style. They are all very professional. Furthermore, I oversee all the editing and I dictate all the styles. Even if I am not in your wedding, I will still oversee the editing, which is very critical.

  11. How long do you finish the album?

It actually depends on a lot of things. I give the proofs within 2 weeks. Then the design will be available 2-3 months after the wedding except for December and January weddings, which will take 3-4 months. After the approval of the design, it usually takes us 4 weeks to produce the album.

  12. What camera do you use? How many megapixels does it have?

Currently, I am using Canon 30D and Canon 40D. They have 8.2 and 10.1 megapixels, respectively. We have also back-up cameras in case of a breakdown.

  13. Do you still use film?

Not anymore, although I have an optional service of a Black & White (B&W) coverage. This is intended for purist customers. This is more of an exception than a rule. B&W photography is my first love. You can see samples at my never-updated-but-still-famous website http://dinolara.tripod.com.

  14. How do you do your B&W service?

I use 5 rolls of traditional B&W films. This is enough to cover the highlights of the wedding. All five rolls will be turned over to you including the contact print. The service charge is Php 10,000.00. The album will range from Php 25,000.00 to Php 50,000.00. All prints are archival quality.

  15. How long do digital prints last?

Photographic paper suppliers and professional inkjet printers claim that their prints lasts for 50 years. All pictures are laminated so it adds to the durability of the picture. In addition to that, all pictures are saved in a CD.

  16. Do you provide the unedited shots in the DVD?

Yes. That way, you can reproduce the pictures on your own. I can even guide you where to print for maximum quality. Not all photo shops are the same. But there are lots of good printers out there nowadays.

  17. Do you charge extra fee for out-of-town weddings?

Yes, there will be an additional P10,000 for weddings held at Laguna, Cavite, Bulacan, Pampanga, Batangas, Quezon. Weddings outside these areas will be charged with extra P20,000 plus transportation, board and lodging.

  18. Do you have limitation in the number of hours when covering the wedding?

None, but we hope that your wedding wouldn't reach 24 hours. We come to your dressing place 2 hours before you go to church and we leave 1 hour after the reception.

  19. Do you do prenuptial pictorial?

Yes. But it has a separate package.

  20. Can you include blow-up portraits in frame?

Yes. Any of the portrait shots at the wedding can be blown up. There will be a charge of P5,000 for 16X20in print with frame. Since I'm giving away the RAW files, you always have the option to do it yourself.

  21. We have tea ceremony after the wedding, is that included?

Yes. Anything you plan on your wedding day will be covered.

  22. Do you cover chinese engagement?

Yes, we have covered several ting hun and we also have a separate package for that.
